Baby Blues

Finally, delivery is over. Confinement is over. Now the bringing up. When will it be over?
Generally the confinement this time is not as tension as it was last time. Tension because I couldnt produce enough milk n didnt hv the confidence that I could fulfill my baby's needs. If only I was more patient. If that was not depressing enough, my MIL demonstrated her expertise (not that I dont appreciate her unconditiona help) with my baby that made me depressed for months n lowered my self esteem. Was it the baby blues?
Hmm.... Why am I talking about the past? Ok. Back to reality. This time around, I made sure that I had my 2 kids with me full-time. Accepting help only for food and laundry. It was tough. Somex, 1 cried after another. Other times, both cried and seemed to compete to see who wins in getting my attn. At the end of the day, I could feel the consequences when my back hurt when I lied down flat on the bed. However, I have no regrets and I would have done the same if I have to go through it again. I love to have them both together.
Now, I dont mind that my sister has brought Jerilyn over to my ma's place while I rest. Why is it ok now while it wasnt last month? Baby blues again?

Another Milestone

I am proud to announce that Jerilyn doesnt need napkins or pampers at home anymore. It is such a relief as I dont hv to do double or triple laundry everyday. Saves a lot of water. We still put her on pampers at night and during outings. Sometimes, she could control her bowel until the next morning. That's something to be proud of for a 2 year old girl.

Building Character

Going into 2 years old, Jerilyn has built her own personality and one of Jerilyn's character that we observe is Affectionate. She shows her love unreservedly. She could just come up to you anytime and kisses you. The person who gets the most kisses is Jesslyn. She just couldnt stop kissing her sister once she started; kisses the eye, the cheek, the forehead etc... She is also very Playful. Some said she is rough for a girl. You can hear her shrieks and laughter in a room of 20-30 people. When she plays, she is usually the loudest among the kids. Other than that, she is an Independent person. As I have mentioned in my earlier blog, she feeds herself, tries to change clothes on her own, carries her own stuff such as bath tub, bag, tumbler, not clingy to Daddy and Mummy etc....[to be continued]

Double Celebration

We are celebrating Jesslyn's Fullmoon tomorrow. Its 4 Jan 2009 (9th of month 12 in the lunar calendar). Why do I mention the lunar calendar? I dont usually observe lunar calendar unless it has certain significance such as CNY or my wedding date. So, it is significance tomorrow because it coincides with Jerilyn's 'chinese' birthday. Again, we dont usually celebrates 'chinese' birthday but since it's also a fullmoon, it's a double celebration.
In fact, on the day Jesslyn was born, in the lunar calendar, it was 11th of month 11, which coincides with my 'chinese' wedding date. Again, it was a double celebration.
